Product Overview
Bring the taste of Japan right to your doorstep with Clearspring’s Organic Sushi Rice & Brown Sushi Rice. Organically grown in the Piemonte region of Northwest Italy, each rice variety is very similar to Japonica rice that’s used to make sushi in Japan. You won’t be able to taste the difference!
Humans and rice go a long way back. Cultivated for years, it’s been embraced for its wide uses and health benefits. It’s extremely low in saturated fats and salt, as well as a great source of fibre and sugar-free. It’s an all-around perfect dish to add to the side or use in the main course.
No doubt both rice varieties are perfect for sushi. Test your skills and try to make a classic avocado maki, or be more experimental with Shiitake Nigiri. It’s an exciting and fun dinner party dish to get the whole group involved. Caution: May cause an extra messy kitchen!
Don’t fancy sushi? Sushi rice is super versatile and tastes great paired with lots of other dishes. Buddha bowls, risottos, fried rice balls and side dishes, it’s perfect for all!
Clearspring - Organic Sushi Rice
Most famous for using in sushi dishes, white sushi rice has a light and fluffy consistency with a very mild and plain flavour. It’s excellent for absorbing marinades and sources and tastes great in risottos, soups and rice puddings! This is also the first European grown Organic Sushi rice to ever exist.
Clearspring - Organic Brown Sushi Rice
Delicious, subtly nutty and light, use brown sushi rice in all the same dishes as white sushi rice. But maybe skip out the rice pudding! If you’re looking to get more nutrients, brown sushi rice contains higher levels of fibre, antioxidants and slightly more vitamins.
Ingredients
Sushi Rice: Organically Grown Rice
Brown Sushi Rice: Organically Grown Whole Grain Rice
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between White Sushi Rice and Brown Sushi Rice?
White rice is the same as brown rice but without the outer layers. During the milling process, the outer layers known as the husk, bran and germ layer are stripped. As a result, only the innermost layer is left, leaving mostly the starchy endosperm. It gives it that sticky satisfying bite we all love.
Brown rice is generally more nutritious than white rice because it still has its outer layers intact. It’s higher in fibre, magnesium and other nutrients. White rice is typically used to make softer, faster cooking rice whilst brown rice is preferred for its higher nutrient qualities.
