Product Overview

Due to the probiotics that occur in the pickling process, Biona Organic Sliced Beetroot is classed as a “superfood”. Not only that, but they are also high in protein and fibre as well as being a source of potassium, calcium, and iron.

Delicious on their own, Biona Organic Sliced Beetroot is also a handy ingredient. You can throw them into a leafy salad, add them into soup, or roast them up on a Sunday with all the vegan roast trimmings.

We recommend adding them on top of a vegan puff pastry base with some vegan cheese, and baking to create a delicious savoury tart. Once cooked, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and enjoy fresh from the oven.

Store somewhere cool and dry. Refrigerate once opened.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I use Biona Organic Sliced Beetroot to make vegan burgers?

Grate 200g of chestnut mushrooms and add them to a mixing bowl. Blend 1 tablespoon of Biona Organic Sliced Beetroot until it is pureed and add into the mixing bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of Marigold’s Engevita Red Nutritional Yeast Flakes for flavour and mix. Then add Amisa’s Organic Chickpea Flour, Gluten-Free in small increments and mix until the mixture can hold its shape.

Use your hands to form the mixture into patties. You can then either bake or fry them. To bake, set the oven to 200˚C, line a tray with greaseproof paper, and bake patties for about 10 mins on each side. To fry, heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and cook patties on one side and then the other until brown and crispy.
