Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use Sunita Going Nuts! Almond & Sesame Butter to make hummus?
Yes, Sunita Going Nuts! Almond & Sesame Butter can be used to make a seriously delicious variation on a classic hummus. You will need 2 tbsp Sunita Going Nuts! Almond & Sesame Butter; 1 can Mr Organic Organic Chickpeas, Mani Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the rind and juice from 1 lemon, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 tsp ground cumin, ½ tsp salt, and a pinch of cinnamon.
First, finely chop 3 cloves of garlic and puree the 4th. Drain the chickpeas and add them to a blender or food processor. Add the Sunita Going Nuts! Almond & Sesame Butter, garlic puree, and lemon juice and blend.
Next, add a splash of olive oil into a frying pan and heat. Add the chopped garlic and fry for 2 minutes. Then add the salt, spices, and lemon rind, and fry for a further 2 minutes. Then add into the food processor and blend until all ingredients are as smooth as possible.
Then, set the blender to the lowest setting and, using the feed tube, pour the olive oil slowly and consistently in while the hummus is blending. Do this until it reaches the desired smoothness. Enjoy spread on toast, or dipped into with crisps and chips. Store in the fridge.
